F.E.A.S.T. UK Task Force

F.E.A.S.T. UK is a task force for F.E.A.S.T.

The purpose of the task force is to:

share information about eating disorder treatment across all of the UK
address eating disorders issues and concerns specifically relevant in a British context
raise awareness about F.E.A.S.T in the UK, promote F.E.A.S.T's goals, and encourage use of the website and the At the Dinner Table forum

The task force is chaired by myself (Fiona Bromelow) assisted by Charlotte Bevan, Helen Missen and Mel Stevenson and reports to the FEAST executive and Board. Tasks undertaken are subject to approval by the F.E.A.S.T Executive Director, and in some instances by the F.E.A.S.T board.

If you would like to be part of this group or just be on the email list to hear what is going on, please join us. Most of the task force's communication is undertaken by email. If you choose to join the task force, you will need to be prepared to share with the group your email address. It would also be helpful if you were able to share your geographical position within the UK.

Regarding Support Groups and Trainings For Parents/Carers

Please note, FEAST is not able to evaluate the philosophical approach or quality of the groups below. Some support groups may be facilitated by or have an atmosphere that is based on older treatment models that distance or blame parents. F.E.A.S.T. advises parents to research in advance and to seek optimistic, science-based support environments that help parents be engaged and assertive.

F.E.D.S. (Family Eating Disorder Support)
Meets on the first Tuesday every month in Canal Court Hotel, Newry, Co Down, Northern Ireland from 7.30-9.30pm. We are parents/carers of children and young (and some not so young) people experiencing an eating disorder. We offer an opportunity to talk, share experiences and support each other. Guest speakers attend at least once every 3 months. F.E.D.S. receives support and guidance from local NHS Trust Eating Disorder Specialist Team.
