Erin's Sock of Hope

F.E.A.S.T. is one of a growing coalition of organizations and individuals participating in a developing international project: “Erin’s Sock of Hope.” Led by an Australian author, June Alexander, this project was inspired by a moment of grief and friendship among a group of eating disorder activists earlier this year in Austria.

A flyer for the project is available on our site.

At the F.E.A.S.T. exhibitor's table at NEDA's conference in 2010, a A special tri-fold display was created by our volunteer, Denise, and included pictures of Erin and her art and was surrounded by fuzzy and sparkling socks.

Erin’s mother, Joan Riederer, is a F.E.A.S.T. member and brought Erin’s real sock to the display as did several other members. During the conference many parents wore tiny sock pins as well in honor of the project and in support of Erin's family.

For more information on the project, please contact June Alexander.
