The 10% mortality rate in eating disorders is unacceptable. On November 29, 2012, F.E.A.S.T. conference attendees, EDC members, congressional staffers, and other federal employees attended at a briefing on Capitol Hill the day before F.E.A.S.T.'s annual conference. In this briefing speakers provided data and testimonials on the heart-wrenching death rate associated with eating disorders and called on Congress and the general public to throw off the stigma and pass legislation to save lives. For those who are interested in the proposed legislation, please visit the Eating Disorders Coalition Website.
